Feature of a festival was that it was held in the historical downtown, on Square "Metallurgists", with the purpose to approach communication with snow to citizens. At night, before action, on the area and the adjacent street, the ski track from natural snow was laid out, the starting glade was marked, were established start and finish area.
Before competitions for children the general warm-up under the leadership of guests from Africa of Jumbo ensemble was done.
Competitions for children were held by rules of ski sprint: qualification and selection by the best results of final hits from 6 participants. The smallest (from 4th to 6 years, "crumbs") participated in the finals without selection. All winners, prize-winners of the finals, and also the children who have taken places from 4th on the 6th place, won prizes from sponsors (ski stock of "Madshus") and souvenirs from Fischer.
Quadruple Olympic champion Nikolay Zimyatov, the double owner of the World Cup in skiing, world champion Alexander Zavyalov were guests of honor of a festival. Guests of honor participated in VIP-hit on 700 meters, gave a master class for young athletes, awarded winners of finals, and also communicated to the sports public of Vyksa. Guests of honor of a snow holiday noted high level of the organization and mass character of a festival.
"Quality of the ski route, the festival organization, conform to high requirements of the International Federation of skiing", - A.Zavyalov noted. – "To young participants of competitions I wish to reach excellent results".
"Not a secret that many great skiers with a sort from country towns", - N. Zimyatov emphasized. – "It is sure that children from Vyksa have a high potential for professional sports. Undoubtedly, they have every chance to become worthy change to present champions".
Participants of a holiday were welcomed by the deputy of Legislative assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Valery Anisimov and the head of administration of the city district Vyksa Igor Rayev.
At the same time with competitions some contests, driving on draft dogs and horses, a quiz on ski subject were held. Winners of a quiz received gifts.
The festival came to the end with festive fireworks.
