Levi Ski Resort celebrated World Snow Day on January 14th, 2023 at Levi’s South Slopes and the day was truly magnificient!

We arranged lot of fun activities for the whole family, including free skiing introduction lessons and snowboarding introduction lessons for children, a slalom race, and an exhibition of snow artworks, cross-country skiing competition, and a sledding competition! We also offered ski passes and rental equipment for children at a lower price. During the day our slope restaurant Sivakka also offered two cocoas for the price of one. On the slopes, we had over 2000 customers during the day.

During the day, Levi Ski School hosted free alpine skiing and snowboarding lessons for 4-9 year-old children. There where four different courses starting among the day and all together we had 25 kids that came for the free lessons. All participants got a World Snow Day neckwarmer and stickers for participating in the course.

Our kids’ play area, Leevilandia, hosted snow adventure excursions for the families, sledding competition and a snow art exhibition, where children were able to carve their own snow artwork. Activities were designed for the whole family and totally free. All participants got a World Snow Day neckwarmer, stickers and a diploma for participating in the exhibition. Our mascot Leevi was also having fun with the kids! Altogether we had 68 taking part to the snow adventure excursion, 30 people to the snow art exhibiton and 10 participation on the sledding competition.

Our local snow sport academy, Levi Snow Sport Academy, arranged a playful slalom competition during the day, where competitions tried to get two slalom times as close as each other as they could. This has been very succesful race, so we wanted to host it again. There were altogether 30 participants in this race. Every contestor got a World Snow Day neckwarmer and stickers, and three best ones got a little extra in the prize giving ceremony.

This year we had to totally new sport and competition for the day. The local cross-country ski team, Ski Team Slipery, hosted a cross-country ski competitions for kids. There were 10 children taking part to the cross-country ski competition and the youngest one was 2-year-old! All participations got a World Snow Day neckwarmer, stickers, a diploma and a phone thermal bag.

All in all the day was a total success, and the day was full of joys of snow-based activities!❄️💙 We are definitely throwing the event again next year and hopefully even bigger!- Free ski snowboard lessons
